Welland is a city in the Southern part of the province of Ontario and is part of the Regional Municipality of Niagara. As per the 2016 census, the population of Welland was 52293. The city is located closely within Niagara-On-The-Lake, Port Colborne, St. Catharines, and Buffalo. All these cities are well connected by railways and the Welland River and Welland Canal. Welland is also the base of the Lincoln and Welland Regiment and the 32 Canadian Brigade Group. Welland became a city in 1917 and also has the nickname The Rose City.
