Dryden is located on Lake Wabigoon in the district of Kenora and follows the Central Time zone. It is part of the nomadic cultural Ojibwe nation that extends from Huron Lake to Lake of the Woods. This area has Cree on the south border and Sioux on the southern border. The city got its name from its founder John Dryden, the Agricultural Minister of the province in 1895. City of Dryden Initiatives
The Public Works department of Dryden takes care of the designing, construction, and planning of sanitary & storm sewers, water mains, streets, and roads. In winter they arrange for removal and plowing of snow on about 200 km of roads, does traffic sign maintenance, and sweeping of roads.
