What is MTO certificate insurance discount?

In Ontario, Canada, completing an approved driver’s education course can result in a discount on your car insurance premium. The Ministry of Transportation of Ontario (MTO) certifies driver education courses that meet certain standards, and successful completion of an MTO-approved course can result in a reduction in your insurance premium.

It’s important to check with your insurance provider to see if they offer a discount for an MTO-certified driver’s education course, and what their specific requirements are. Can I apply for license any faster if I attend driving school

G1 drivers WITHOUT driving school must wait 1 year after getting G1 to do road test

G1 drivers WITH driving school can reduce the waiting period by 4 months (driving test to earn G2 can be taken 8 months after getting G1).

G2 drivers must wait 1 year to take G road test REGARDLESS of driving school. Unfortunately, no time reduction, but you may still save slightly on insurance.
